Creating Dataset

Patterns uses datasets to store and manage your data. You can create a dataset for each type of data you want to use. You can import your marketing website or help portal data into a dataset, and then use it to create personalized content for your users.

Create a Dataset From a Website

To create a dataset, follow these steps:

1. In the Patterns dashboard, click on the Datasets tab in the left-hand navigation.
2. Click on the Create Dataset button.
3. Enter a name and a website URL for your dataset.
4. Click Create.

Patterns will automatically import the data from the website and create a dataset for you. You can then use this dataset to create personalized content for your users.

Note: Parsing a website may take some time, depending on the size of the website and the amount of data to be imported. You can check the status of the import process in the Datasets tab.

Create a Dataset From Other Sources

If you have data stored in a CSV file or a database, you can import this data into a dataset. To import data for a dataset, follow these steps:

1. In the Patterns dashboard, click on the Datasets tab in the left-hand navigation.
2. Click on the Create Dataset button.
3. Select the source of the data you want to import (e.g., CSV file, database).
4. Upload the data file or connect to the database.
5. Map the columns in the data file to the corresponding fields in Patterns.
6. Click Create.

Patterns will import the data from the selected source and create a dataset for you. You can then use this dataset to create personalized content for your users.
